SYNOPSES

The nuclear power industry has been experiencing significant change in the last several years. In the United States, utilities are facing deregulation, competition, limited resources, and tight budgets. As a result, it has become increasingly essential for licensees in the United States and abroad to access and process information more efficiently. Although the computer has been used for storage, retrieval, and dissemination of information for years, it is only recently that the distribution of technical information has become so prevalent and so widely accessible. This has been largely due to the general availability of the Internet, and in particular, due to the popularity of the graphical and multimedia enhanced World Wide Web. There are multitudes of nuclear on-line information resources available, many of which are provided by governments, educational institutions, organizations, and the power industry itself. This paper will introduce and discuss the most significant international web sites in Year 2000 that are beneficial for researching issues pertaining to Nuclear Power Regulations, Codes, and Standards.
